太委屈 & 最熟悉的陌生人 Cover

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 6:00 pm

Feeling bored and wanted to take time off from “work”. Hahah!

I think I need to keep practising the basic techniques, else I’ll forget abt them! ;p

太委屈 Cover

Sounds a bit off la, I know ;p

I always lose focus while singing…

Hopefully there’s the 感情 cos I know I am bad at 技巧…

Just before I deferred my vocal classes, I insisted on practising the high notes. Cos I always get dizzy after practising the high notes.. So my high notes always get stuck at the sinus area..

最熟悉的陌生人 Cover

Now I am just wondering if we should constantly challenge ourselves or make the best out of what we already have..

Hmm……

I am supposed to practise this…

I actually found this clip on youtube, which you need to sing low DO and a higher DO.

Do click on it to see my mission impossible.. Hehehe..

感情 vs 技巧

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 4:42 pm

There was once when I watched 超级星光大道, 黄韵玲 commented to 陶晶莹 that “只有技巧没有用, 要有感情!”..

Which sounded a little weird after 陶晶莹 laughed out loud.. (hahahahha!!!)

So yesterday my instructor said that my voice projection is not quite there.. Which means the “dynamics” are not there.. It is the major part, ‘cos it contributes to voice expression..

But I really is very loud liao leh…….

So I guess, 有感情没有用 也要有技巧!! Hahahhahahaha…

Stage 1 Results

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 6:00 pm

I got my “report card” for my Stage 1 Fundamentals today.

Wa, damn paiseh la, cos I think I really didn’t do very well last week.

I got overall score 70/100. Below are the breakdowns:

1. Breathing Techniques – Overall good. Can try to use breathing sound to enhance song feel. (15/20)

2. Pitch/Rhythm – Pitch flat at ending notes. Rhythm overall ok, except entrance. (14/20)

3. Diction – Clear diction. Can have more punch + accented notes to bring out certain mood + feeling. (16/20)

4. Voice Projection – Improved from beginning of course but still room for improvement. (12/20)

5. Basic Song Management – Very self-conscious of singing each phrase, lack of climax in singing. (7/10)

6. Stage Presence/Posture – Not much expression with body language. Still feel shy to be on stage. (6/10)

7. Overall Remarks – A conscientious learner, keeps on trying to perform her best. Overall, performance has improved as she grasp most singing concepts but needs more practise and confidence to reach greater heights.

Wa, brings me back to the days when I was in primary school, waiting earnestly to see what teacher wrote in the report book. Hurhurhur….

Before Sunset

Before Sunset movie trailer:

I suppose the next movie(s) I am starting on will be Before Sunrise/Sunset.

Ethan Hawke is hot!!!

I am feeling glad that I used to have this bad (hahaha!) habit of buying vcds/dvds to keep.

If all else fails, I still have The Notebook. Or search online for my favourite 西關大少.

Arghs, can I have the feel of 失恋 / 爱要不能爱 back?

还多不多?

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 6:00 pm

Ok, this is going to be a weird post, cos I just thought of sharing something ‘funny’.

My instructor was going through the lyrics of 听说爱情回来过with me. There was one part where I nearly 喷泪.

She said something like: 前面是从朋友那里听说这个人曾经回来过。 你想请他帮你问候, 因为怕说不出口。 然后你想要问那个人对以前的感触还多不多….

Wa, really is sad 到~~~

Arpeggiossss

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 12:10 pm

During my last vocal class, I didn’t sing a single part on the karaoke (although I worship the mic there.. hurhurhur).

My instructor made me do some technical exercises that made me almost went crazy.

Usual lesson includes the basic warm-up like this:

Out of the different vowels, I have only started on a and e. It’s this kind of notes on the keyboard that makes me go crazy, even though it’s only do re mi fa so. Cos my voice is very ‘thin’, I have problem doing the e.

But last week, no more doremifaso only. She mentioned something about arpeggios, and I really duno what that is.

I could only remember that I should practise do mi so mi do. Then she continued with do re do mi do fa do so and back do fa do mi do re do.

It’s crazy cos I really tone deaf la. It is difficult for me to vocalise DO and then SO.

Then she started on C, C#, D, D#, E. WA LAO EH.

I think my instructor is very kind to help me treat my tone-deaf-ness. LOL.

Which reminds me, I haven’t been practising. Oppsie….

Right right. I found this cute cartoon on do mi so mi do. Hurhurhur…

My “School”

Filed under: My Music Project — by efatrie @ 10:51 pm

Okies, enough of emo-nemo stuff. I am optimistic!!! Hahaha.

Anyways, I haven’t been mentioning where I am taking my (new) vocal classes. It is really a nice place, looks warm and cozy, 有家的感觉. Hehe..

Tada…

The recep area. Behind the glass window is one small ’studio’ where people can do recordings.

Walking further in on the first level will lead you here. I think students/their in-house artistes will be doing performances here.

The second level! I always sit at this particular place while waiting for my class. Hehe. On the left of the picture is the CD library. I haven’t started to really explore the CDs though.

Tada, the room where my classes are conducted in. It’s pretty small but is really cozy enough lor. Hehe.. (P.S.: Ning, this room reminds u of the old Attitude? It does for me hehe duno why..)

And yes, this entry shall ends abruptly here. LOL.
